Teaching Expert Awards 2015 - winner of the design competition announced on the 24th of September
Posted 02.09.15
At the end of this year the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education will present national teaching awards to a small group of higher education teachers in Ireland.
The selected teachers will be presented with a beautifully designed, unique piece that is a permanent symbol of how valued they are. Creative proposals were sought for the design and creation of the prize which captures the spirit of National Forum teaching impact awards, recognising the dedication, inspiration and expertise of great teachers in the Irish Higher Education sector.
The call was based on a partnership between The National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education with the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland and Irish Design 2015. The winning design will be presented to the teaching expert award winners in December 2015.
The Teaching Expert awards have been established to give national recognition to outstanding higher education teachers in Ireland. This initiative celebrates those teachers who make an outstanding difference as creative thinkers, academic leaders, innovative practitioners and professional experts in their disciplines. They will have demonstrated a particular commitment to work of relevance to the theme “Teaching for Transitions” and that has as a result impacted upon the quality of the student learning experience.
