In the main I use over mature timber such as oak, spalted beech and elm and also ash yew and some soft woods. I love more or less asking a piece of wood what I should do with it and letting it tell me. Bog oak I find fascinating, but difficult. Having some expertise in steel I like to combine wrought iron and wood to produce tables and chairs. Most of my designs are one off pieces as the designs in the wood do not repeat themselves.
