Jewellery to me should evoke an emotional response - a sense of awe, nostalgia and a feeling of preciousness. I try to create these responses by making precious objects of desire using traditional techniques such as casting, chasing and enamelling in my work. My jewellery designs are influenced by nature, colour, mythology, fables and ethnic folklore giving each piece its own narrative. My current body of work amalgamates my interest in the symbolism of protective animal totems, amulets, fertility charms and the protection and reverence of nature and is elements.
