My work is concerned with aesthetics and also with ceramic as a mode of personal expression. I am influenced by th Classical preoccupation with proportion and ideas related to architecture, the relationship of forms within a defined space, and structurs that define form as mass and volume. Conversely, having lived, worked and travelled extensively in the Far East, there is also an asymmetrical Oriental influence running through my work and I explore the qualities suggested by pose, mood, attitude and the spiritual qualities, which I believe are contained within the forms. I continue to explore the shifting and unpredictable relationships, which result as a consequence of the various vantage points of the viewer.
