I take my inspiration from the sea. Boats, currach, Galway hookers, whales, birds and lighthouses are all carved from native woods, bog oak and driftwood collected after winter storms. I also make a cold cast range which is available through many outlets. It is my ambition to make a comprehensive range of Irish boats representing our diversie nautical heritage available to craft shops that require items with a nautical theme. As my work continues to expand and develop, I see opportunity to encompass the use of mixed and new materials, metals, clays and fabrics but staying always with the maritime theme.
