Profile
Katri Saarinen makes contemporary jewellery using acrylic and sterling silver. She creates harmony between the ancient, traditional silver and the vibrantly coloured, man-made plastic. Her creations represent the urban landscape with light weight structures inspired by modern architecture. She is using modern technology in jewellery making by laser cutting the acrylic parts before riveting them together with silver into a celebration of colour. Katri studied jewellery making and design in Finland before moving to Ireland. Later she added to her skill set by taking courses at the prestigious jewellery school Le Arti Orafe in Florence. She started producing her own jewellery in 2012 in Dublin.
