Heal’s London has partnered with the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland (DCCoI) to present the largest retail showcase of Irish made design in London for over three decades, to run throughout March 2016.

Marking the launch of Heal’s Modern Craft Market programme 2016, Design Ireland is a capsule collection of the work of 20 leading Irish designers and makers across furniture, lighting, ceramics, textiles, glass and gifts in the Tottenham Court Road store from Monday 7th March to Sunday 27th March 2016. This showcase of Irish creativity coincides with Ireland being in the global spotlight for Saint Patrick’s Day celebrations on March 17th.

An exciting programme of live craft demonstrations in Heal’s iconic windows, including throwing pots, wood turning, screen printing, basket making and block printing, as well as a series of in-store ‘Meet the Maker’ events will provide visitors a unique opportunity to meet the Irish designers and craftspeople behind the products, see them at work and learn more about their designing and making process.

For further details on the designers and makers featured in Design Ireland at Heal’s and information on the three week long programme of in-store events, please visit www.dccoi.ie/heals. Saint Patrick’s Day - Thursday, March 17th,  6 - 9pm: Official launch event at Heal’s, open to the public.

Design Ireland at Heal’s is the luxury retailer’s first group presentation of the work of Irish designers and makers since the store held exhibitions of products designed at the world famous Kilkenny Design Workshops in 1967 and 1972. This 2016 initiative emerged as a result of successive DCCoI exhibitions at Tent London during London Design Festival.
