Lina Siaudvytyte was born in Lithuania in 1977. In 2003, she obtained a Diploma in Metal Technology and Jewellery from the Crafts College, Lithuania and fell in love with jewellery making. Lina moved to Ireland in 2004 and continued to develop her jewellery skills through online tutorials and practice in her own workshop. In 2013, she established her own brand, BOLINA. Her brand sold at the National Crafts and Design Fair from 2014 to 2016 and at Showcase – Ireland’s Creative Expo® in 2015 and 2016. Lina wanted to further develop her skills and wanted a course that would give her in-depth training in fine jewellery; she started the DCCoI Jewellery and Goldsmithing Skills & Design Course in 2015. The pieces she has made during the course have been complex in construction and have helped her to develop a distinctive design style. After graduation, Lina plans to have her own workshop in Ireland to create bespoke pieces and collections.

“I have been both energised and pushed to my limits with the amount of jewellery techniques covered on this course. We are pushed to achieve a very high level of accuracy from the start and this has undoubtedly had a positive impact on our ability to use advanced fine jewellery techniques like micro diamond mounting and complex construction techniques.”
