Mollie Rose Verity Paling is originally from Brighton and studied for a BA in Three Dimensional Design at Manchester School of Art from 2012 to 2015 where she explored a range of practices such as ceramics, wood, glass and metal. While doing her degree, she attended an undergraduate summer school at The Goldsmiths’ Centre in London and from this experience it became apparent that jewellery was a subject she wanted to further explore.  She was awarded the MMU Original Award and Sarah Malon Alumni award at her graduate exhibition and went on to show her collection at New Designers, London. After graduating from her degree, Mollie exhibited extensively within the UK at the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair, Future Makers in Manchester, Design Event at Northern Design Festival in Newcastle and at The Workshop at the Artswave Festival in Lewes. Mollie hopes to expand her fine jewellery skills within the jewellery trade with the view to developing her own design style with a contemporary edge.

“It’s the experimental process that inspires me to make jewellery; I like trying out unfamiliar techniques and applying these methods to bring my 2D designs into a wearable three-dimensional object.”
