Exhibitions & Programmes Assistant - National Design & Craft Gallery | Invitation to Tender

The Design & Crafts Council of Ireland (DCCoI), wish to contract a dynamic Exhibitions & Programmes Assistant whose key responsibility will be in supporting the delivery of National Design & Craft Gallery projects, programmes and exhibitions. The role will focus on the administration and co-ordination of key National Design & Craft Gallery programmes, including: friends programme; exhibition delivery support; project research; audience research and communications; engagement activities; funding applications; and working to communicate and animate interest in NDCG programmes at local, national and international levels.

The Exhibitions & Programmes Assistant will require a thorough understanding of the craft and design sector; excellent research, copy writing and editing skills; experience in exhibition curation, logistics and artist liaison; conceptual understanding and an ability to write about contemporary craft and design; and experience working with designers to develop project related materials. The candidate will also be educated to degree level with a minimum of two years post-qualification experience or equivalent in craft, design and/or gallery sector.

Part-time contract from September 2019 - September 2020 (2-3 days / week), reporting to National Design & Craft Gallery, Exhibitions & Programmes Curator.
